Neighborhood Personality: The Artist

East Hill is one of the most desired communities for residence in Pensacola. Mention of life “on the East Hill” can be found in local newspapers, dating back as far as 1860. Over the last two hundred years, many Pensacolians who have helped shape the city at large, such as Alexander Stoddart, Henry and Mary Baars, A.V. Clubbs, have invested, developed and resided in this historic neighborhood.

Depending on who you ask, you might receive a few different answers regarding where the boundaries of East Hill lie. Generally, the neighborhood includes all property that runs east to west between Bayou Texar and 9th Avenue, and north to south between Fairfield and Belmont.

Waterfront Living:

Stunning waterfront properties populate the most eastern portion of East Hill, situated along the beautiful west bank of Bayou Texar, an estuary fed from the north by Carpenter’s Creek and flowing into Pensacola Bay. Residents are able to launch boats, paddle boards, and kayaks from their own personal docks or from the nearby 35 acre Bayview Park. Bayview Park is a gorgeous, city managed green space along the water’s edge, boasting boat ramps, tennis courts, small piers, picnic pavilions and a multi-million dollar Community Center, scheduled to be completed by 2020.

Centered around N 12th Avenue and its mixed-use design, East Hill offers unique, local restaurants, shopping and businesses that are proudly supported by neighborhood residents. The neighborhood is located 5 minutes from Cordova Mall, Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola International Airport, Publix, Pensacola Bay Civic Center, Downtown Pensacola, Bayou Texar, Pensacola Bay, 18 city parks, boat ramps, tennis courts and much more. Few can say they live 5 minutes from an easily accessible international airport and rarely hear a plane.
